Description

Start from a pullout on the west side of the road. Fits only 2-3 cars. Hike up trail trending on the north side of the valley going through intermittent trees. There are lots of chained ponds down in the valley great for wildlife.

Nearly half-way up the trail a seasonal alpine spring is encountered. I bring water purification so I can fill up here on the way up and back. As you continue on the trail gets a bit more worn out, take your time picking through the short, steep and loose sections. Near the saddle the trail crosses a boulder field then tops over the ridge to reach a beautiful field at the saddle. This is a crossroads for the dry creek trail, as well as the ridge to Box Elder and an Unnamed peak to the north.

This is a great spot to camp.
