The trail covers about 8 miles from start to finish. The route is generally easy to hike, with some moderate, but short grades. The views include canyon rim vistas and natural meadows, oak forests and Manzanita groves, and a wagon road beside a seasonal creek with a cascade among boulders. Mid-way through you'll find yourself at the summit of Cerro Vista, a nearly 12,000' peak.
