Description

This is a punishingly steep climb that gains over 3,000 feet of elevation in less than seven miles. The reward from the top is the stunning alpine scenery of Elbow Lake and the impressive Mount Cowen that towers over you another 2,500 feet.

Hike a short distance on the East Fork Mill Creek and then turn north (left) at the signed junction, take a deep breath and then climb steadily for six miles arriving at the pristine mountain lake.
