Description

In the far north corner of Turnbull the start of the trail is on the right, up a steep, rock-littered channel to the top of a sharp pinnacle of land. Through the thick bushes at the top, the trail descends (Puma Trail splits to the right after the bushes), twisting and turning beneath the trees for over a mile to the bottom. The trail surface is hardpack on the mild sections, and can be loose with ruts on the steep sections.

Near the bottom on the right, before a tiny but steep group of switchbacks, is the start of Puma Trail. Continue past Puma and the trail wraps around to the right, climbing back to the top, or go down left to Orange Grove Ave if that's where you parked.

The first part of the ascent is not too steep, but keep your eyes up-trail because mountain bikes FLY down this section. The last stretch of climbing up to the trail split is a beautiful series of wide switchbacks through the trees.
