Description

The Castle Creek Trail follows a remote drainage up Warm Springs Rd from Ketchum. It is primitive, allows access to remote terrain on the eastern side of Baker Peak and links together with Placer Creek for an excellent mountain loop. The trail can be used as an out and back or connected with Placer Creek. This trail also connects with the Osberg Ridge Trail to create a large loop. The Castle Rock spires at the mouth of Castle Creek are worth a short visit on their own.

The first part of the trail is easy to follow, but once you get to around the 5-mile mark you'll start going through some meadows where the trail will become faint. Stay the course if you lose the trail for a short while, it will reappear in moments.
