Family Friendly The entire family will enjoy the trip to Beaver Lake - bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.

Overview

One of the more popular day hikes in the area, this out and back makes for a great afternoon for the entire family.

Description

The popular Beaver Lake trail starts off rather unpleasantly through a Beaver Creek maintenance yard, but then becomes nicer as it parallels the namesake creek. Though the surface is smooth and wide, there are a couple of steeper sections. You'll pass Beanos Cabin and continue the ascent up-valley through meadows and forest. The trail ends at Beaver Lake (9746 ft.), a pristine mountain lake in the Holy Cross Wilderness.
