Overview

These trails are located in a newly established area in Moab. You are up high on a plateau northwest of Moab with stunning views of the La Sal Mountains and surrounding canyons and desert life. It's all singletrack and slickrock with a road section at the end.

Need to Know

The trails are well marked but cross different roads in many places. Pay attention to all signs.

It's a popular mountain biking destination, so be on the lookout for fast moving bikes.

Description

From the trailhead, begin the descent on Bull Run (Magnificent 7 Trail). It takes you on the canyon rim and through the sage and pinon pines. Your views straight ahead are of the La Sal Mountains. To the left (northeast) you'll see Monitor and Merrimac, two mesa's that look like battleships. The trail crosses a few 4WD roads before ending at a junction with Getaway Trail and Arths Trail, and Great Escape Trail.

Take the left onto the Getaway Trail and hike through the sagebrush before beginning the ascent back up onto slickrock. The trail has some cool rock features for hiking on and around. Enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding desert above Moab. After mile 10, you'll be back on Gemini Bridges Road. Follow the road back to the trailhead where you began!

Flora & Fauna

You'll see a lot of sagebrush, jack rabbits and cactus!
