The Woodward Valley Trail picks up from close to the midpoint of the Coast Trail - North but of course it can be traveled in either direction. The initial grade is moderately steep, but is not really as tough as it looks from the bottom. The trail steepness also eases considerably after the first half mile. Say farewell to the coastal views as you pass through open, scrubby fields then duck into the pleasant, forested Woodward Valley itself. Meander along densely wooded ridges and into lush hillside valleys before ending at the junction with the Sky Trial.

Note: bikes are not allowed on the Woodward Valley Trail.
