As with most trails, if you hike a couple of miles away from the parking lot, you get stunning views without all the people.
The trail climbs through open fields of Sage brush.
Just browsing
Sometimes you have to share the trail with the animals, as you can see as these bison use the trail to come down the hill. Give them a wide berth, or wait for them to clear before continuing.
The Agate Creek Trail plunges to a remote section of the Yellowstone River near the mouth of Agate Creek.
