Climbing through patchy snow, to Guyot Pass (almost 11,000 ft.) from the north, on a crispy, clear early May afternoon.
Red Spur is seen to the west-northwest from high on the north side of Guyot Pass. The cliffs of Kern Canyon drop off in front of Red Spur. Not seen, the Kern River runs in the deep canyon below.
