This is the view from the top of a dune along the trail. You can see the Chicago skyline on clear days.
We hiked back the way we came. This climb is no joke. Difficult and hard on the knees.
First glimpse of Lake Michigan, about 1.4 miles in.

The trail comes out at the beach here. We were one of only a few people around 10am on a Saturday. That changed quickly.
