Bathtub Lake, the second small Lake, is passed by Bathtub Lake Trail.
The trail departs the upper side of the parking lot and begins to climb into the forest. The trail is volcanic sand and depending on the area, it can be compact and easy to walk on or loose and like walking on the beach.

The trail departs the upper side of the parking lot and begins to climb into the forest. The trail is volcanic sand and depending on the area, it can be compact and easy to walk on or loose and like walking on the beach.

The first little lake is set in the pine forest below Bathtub Lake Trail.
Cinder Cone rises in the distance as the Fantastic Lava Beds come right up to the water. Kayakers, paddleboarders, and fishermen can be seen on the lake.
On the left is a close up look at the black boulders of the Fantastic Lava Beds, as Nobles Emigrant Trail (East) runs next to them. These large boulders were formed by slow cooling lava from Cinder Cone.
