Lower Coney Lake. At this point, climbing 500 feet of loose talus seemed more fun than bashing through more willows.
First and smallest of three lakes.
Small lake along the Cone Lake Trail
Along the south contours between the two lakes, the higher up you go, the better. Rock/grass rather than rock/willows down below.
Many wildflowers along the trail.
An alpine meadow provides a scenic picnic stop just below the summit of Mount Audubon.
