Even in Mid-July, this section of the PCT can be nearly impassable due to snow.
The east end of Pilot Ridge is seen to the north from Bald Eagle Trail. Sloan Creek flows in the valley between Pilot Ridge and the Bald Eagle Trail ridge.
Lake Sally Ann can be a lot less welcoming at some times than others. Be warned: this was mid-July.
