Checking out the spillway of Dam #5 just across the bridge from the start of this section.
Dam 5 offers some interesting scenery along the Potomac River.
Big Slackwater (shown here) is where the trail turns concrete as it curves around a calm and beautiful bend in the Potomac.
Nice vista looking across the potomac
One half of an old bridge to cross the lock. The arch was above a flume where the excess water bypassed the lock.
Very easy trail the majority of the way. I saw a few road bikes that werent struggling at all.
