Great views from up here.
If hiking in the late spring or late fall, be careful of ice on the trail. This section is very shaded during the day, so snow and ice may not melt as fast as other areas.
Even if you are unable to hike the trail, you'll enjoy the views at the base.
The final push as you near the Clingmans Dome Parking Lot. You can see the dead fir trees, victims of the sap sucking balsam woolly adelgid.
The trail on the way up to the summit and tower have spectacular views.
