A view of the high peaks from the summit of the hill. It's a great view, but as you can see it's pretty exposed as you have climbed out of the creek area and a majority of the big trees are gone.
This is the last crossing of the North Fork of the Chalone Creek (or first depending on what way you are traveling). If you are headed to the high peaks area, the trail starts to climb at this point.

The North Wilderness Trail remains narrow as it climbs the hill.
This is the last crossing of the North Fork of the Chalone Creek (or first depending on what way you are traveling). If you are headed to the high peaks area, the trail starts to climb at this point.
Purple wildflowers line the North Wilderness Trail through this section as it climbs up the mountain.
In this part of the trail, rocks like the ones found in the high peaks region begin to appear. The first part of the trail doesn't have these rock formations.
The North Wilderness Trail continues to follow the creek and you'll notice that the trees have moss hanging from them in this part of the trail. This creek is the North Fork of the Chalone Creek.
The trail turns sharply north at this point.
Looking uphill, you can see the trail climbing to the top of the hill.
