Description

Gates Pass is one of the most scenic roadside stops in the Tucson Mountains. With incredible views of the Tucson Mountain Park, this winding mountain pass is a must-see when visiting the area. A viewing area next to the parking lot offers interpretive signs describing the history of the area. For those seeking more adventure (or a little solitude), many trails wind into the mountains nearby, exploring the nearby landscape.

On the Road: There is parking at the large pullout at the top of the pass. The main viewpoint is easily reached from the parking area, as well as the trailheads nearby.

Family Friendly: This is a great, easy stop just along the road, and has many short trails that are great for kids
