Description

The Goosenecks State Park Viewpoint is perhaps one of the greatest examples of entrenched meander in all of Utah. Approximately 1000 feet below you, the mighty San Juan River turns and twists, flowing six miles while only advancing one and a half linear miles.

In these sandstone layers, you'll observe over 300 million years of geology and the unstoppable powers of erosion that water has on this landscape.

If you're looking to camp here, there are 8 designated camping sites along the rim. Each site has its own fire-ring and picnic table. These sites are first come, first served only. Bring firewood and water.

Short Walk: Park at the obvious parking area and walk approximately 15 feet from your car. To get a better view, there are trails you can also take to get even closer to the edge of these sandstone cliffs.

Fees:
- $5/car/day
- $2/person (for bus tours)
- $10/night/campsite

Family Friendly: Easily accessible and awe-inspiring; kids will love this area.
