gem icon Circle of Sacred Smoke Sculpture

1 vote

The circle of sacred smoke sculpture pays homage to the American people as a sign of world peace by artist Junkyu Muto. The statue is designed to help increase visitor understanding of the importance of the tower to over 20 native tribes. It is the 3rd of 7 works planned by the Muto around the world. The first two sculptures can be found in the Vatican City and Bodhi, India. The sculpture depicts the first puff of smoke from a pipe as it is lit.

Short Walk: The nearest parking is the Amphitheater/Picnic area parking lot. You can also easily access this site from the Belle Fourche Campground by following the Campground Connector.

Family Friendly: A good cultural experience to tack onto a hike through the Prairie Dog Town!
