Description

The ranger-led Sunset Strolls are a great way to end your day at White Sands National Monument. This leisurely one-hour, ranger-guided walk through the sand dunes will give you a glimpse into the unique and diverse area. Learn about the geology, plants, and animals, and take in the magnificent views of the white dunes at sunset.

The walk starts one hour before sunset at the sign along Dunes Drive about five miles from the Visitor Center. Sunset Strolls are offered daily, and the program is free. The walk is an easy, less than one-mile stroll. Visit the park's website for more information and to see the current schedule.

Short Walk: The start of the walk is located five miles from the park entrance. Meet the park ranger next to the Sunset Stroll sign.

Family Friendly: This short, easy walk is timed to end at sunset and features an informative walk across the dunes.
