Description

A navigable tunnel through lava tubes! This is a great, short adventure that's worth trip. You can just poke around at the mouth of the cave and turn back to the car or, for more adventure, hike the whole loop. Check out the Ape Cave Featured Hike for more details.

Short Walk: The entrance is a short walk from the parking lot. The complete loop is about 2.5 miles long.

Family Friendly: Kids will love exploring the cave. Just remember the powerful flashlights and jackets.

Explored both trails of the cave (lower on 7-25), and each were very neat! The upper trail has a beautiful loop added as well!

Went partially through the lower cave trail before turning back after about an hour due to a lack of appropriate clothing. Lots of fun!
