Tracking Location from Desktop Site

I'm preparing to backpack the GC R2R2R w/ a group next month. Have downloaded the needed maps already. Question is: Can my girlfriend track my location via the desktop in real time or at least via me checking in on the app? I will be using the app offline mostly. I'm on the desktop right now and don't see a feature that will allow me to this. I am trying to use this app as opposed to various other tracking apps to cut down on cell usage and various app usage. Any tips or pointers will be helpful. (I don't feel like purchasing a Garmin InReach right now). Thank you!

Hi Joshua,

The only way for someone to track you is to either share your location on you phone through data or with something like a Garmin or Spot. No one will be able to track you via the Hiking Project app.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
