Canada to Mexico Path

Is it possible  to hike from Canada to Mexico and never leave public (federal, state, local) land ?
Said differently,  do the whole trek without stepping on private land.

Looks like the CDT almost does that. It goes through the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana (so it depends if you count that as private land or not). But also 24% of it is on motorized roads.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
