Need to Know

Trails in the southern half of the park lack trail markers. This hiker strongly suggests taking a map with you for a more enjoyable experience.

Description

The first section of this trail (between either side of the Black Ranch Loop) makes a nice shortcut if you don't want to do the whole Black Ranch Loop Trail. The second half of this trail to the south of Black Ranch Loop, descends down a hillside then turns left and parallels an active set of railway tracks and Highway 4. Eventually the trail dead-ends at the park's southernmost boundary.
