Need to Know

Rest room on the other side of the Monarch Chesterfield Levee Trail Levee Trail.

Description

This is a very short hike through several different types of environments.

Taking the route clockwise, you pass a lake to your left with some scrub bushes. I saw cormorants, egrets, and indigo buntings. The back side is a hike along a low levy. You never get close enough to see Big Muddy itself unless it is at flood stage. On the return leg, you pass a swamp where I saw ducks, heron, and a flash of some sort of mink/otter.
