Description

Pigs Run branches off the Santee Branch Trail to the south, beginning with a moderate-to-easy path. Around halfway, the trail crosses an open right-of-way field, allowing for a scenic view both up and downhill. From here, the trail takes a turn and begins a much steeper descent.

This slope is accompanied by much rockier terrain and loose soil. All of this combines for a challenging section of trail that hikers of all levels should traverse with care. At its western end, Pigs Run connects with the Forest Glen Trail, allowing for an alternate return to the Hilton Area or a connection to the Grist Mill Trail.

This trail is marked with purple blazes.
