Need to Know

There's parking for a few cars by the trailhead but this area can get muddy. There are no toilets.

Description

The track starts out fairly wide but soon becomes a narrower mossy trail with a couple of benches to stop and eat lunch at. After a while, the track splits for the loop section. The uphill section is to your left so start there if you want to hike the gentle section last. Watch out for a few dead possums in the forest left by trappers, or if you're more inclined, check out the tree-fuchsia/ kōtukutuku or tuis. The track has small steep and muddy sections better suited for boots than jandals, and a few very small stream crossings to jump over.
