Need to Know

This is on an exposed hillside. It will be very hot during the summer.

Also, there are a ton of rattlesnakes in this area... beware.

Description

This trail can be accessed from either Islay Creek Road or Hazard Peak Trail. From Islay Creek Road it is a mile uphill. It will be the first left hand turn. From Hazard Peak Trail, it is 1.8 miles uphill. It will be the first trail on the right.

This trail is very straightforward to follow. There are no offshoot trails or intersections. The trail is certainly less steep, faster, and less technical than Hazard Peak Trail. Canyon View winds it way up Hazard Peak with many switchbacks. It was recently built by CCCMB so it was certainly built by and for mountain bikers; containing no steep sections and banked trails. This trail is exposed, no shade or brush at all.
