Need to Know

Streams on the ridge provide flowing water through early/mid summer but dry up later in the year.

In spring, the path from the ridge to Round Lake is slow to melt and features steep slopes under obvious cornices. Also, route-finding on the upper portions of Lost Creek Ridge Trail is challenging in snow. Be cautious when the snow line is below ~5500'.

Description

Follow the Lost Creek Trail to the ridge, gaining most of the elevation on the way. After gaining the ridge, the trail heads east and evens out, but is often somewhat overgrown.

After a little more than a mile on the ridge, Round Lake is clearly visible off a northern side trail. The lake has lots of room for tents plus a pit toilet on the west side.

Lost Creek Ridge Trail continues along the ridge to reach other lakes, but gets even more overgrown. Eventually, the trail ends at a junction with the White Chuck Trail #643.
