Description

This trail starts at the Prehistoric Trackways National Monument lower parking lot. From the parking lot, it is a fairly moderate ascent to the ridge. The trail follows the ridgeline and eventually climbs a steep mountainside. About one mile in, you can leave the trail and descend into the arroyo below and explore the fossils.

The trail has good views of the Rio Grande Valley and of Split Rock.
