A section of the trail on the north side of the lake is closed from February 1 to July 15 for Loon nesting. The closure point is well signed. You can still complete a loop hike by taking Wakeley Lake West Loop.

Description

This is the main loop in the Wakeley Lake Area. In addition to the trail network, there is a walk-in campground and fishing on the lake itself. Parking is right off M-72.

The trail makes a nice loop around Wakeley Lake through the forest with frequent views of the water. Along the way, trails such as Beaver Pond Loop, Wakeley Lake West Loop and Wakeley Lake North Loop break off to serve as options to add mileage.
