Description

This trail has amazing landscapes, but can be pretty difficult for new hikers. If you find gates made of wood and barbed wire, you can open them but it is important to close them again. They are there to control the cows in the area.

The trail is 75% singletrack with some wider sections toward the beginning (south end). The name is related to the history of this trail. During WWII, some of the women of Monte Sant'Angelo died from exhaustion during their return home after a day of work in the field in the valley of Macchia (in between Monte Sant'Angelo and Manfredonia). The direct translation from the local dialect is: Scanna = Kill / Mugliera = Wife (woman).
