No reservations are required for camping, but it is recommended to call the Visitor Center at 479-789-5000 and check if campers are ahead of you. Camping fees will increase to $12 in the near future.

Description

This trail forms two loops in a figure eight configuration, including: the Dry Creek Loop and the Huckleberry Loop (which has five campsites). It is popular for overnight backpacking and follows logging roads along the ridge and hills down to several hollows. Expect a mostly graveled surface along a moderate trail. Great views of Beaver Lake are near the campsites. Also note the interesting sinkholes alongside the trail.

Notably, the trail is named for the now-extinct passenger pigeon, which once roosted by the millions here.
