“An easy track from St. Arnaud Village to the mountain bike track network at Teetotal Conservation Area.
”
Family Friendly
A relatively easy and accessible track.
This is a popular multi-use trail. Be alert as you hike and ready to yield appropriately.
Description
Village Link is accessed from Beechnest Drive in St Arnaud. It climbs 98 ft (30 m) in a series of switchbacks to reach conservation land and skirt around private property.
Once the elevation has been gained, the broad gravel track sidles through regenerating native bush before descending in a few more switchbacks down onto grassy flats. The trail emerges at the local ice skating pond and Department of Conservation campground.
Hikers can continue on the Skating Pond Loop to head further into the Teetotal trail network.
