The Furmanovka Peak Alternate Trail starts just east of the buildings near the end of the road (you can leave cars there), and heads off to the south. It rejoins the Furmanovka Peak Trail about about 1.5 miles.

Trail surface is gravel and there are no roots or fallen trees to contend with, making for an easy hike.

This trail is a nice alternative to the Furmanovka Peak Trail, and is a good option for making a loop, or as an alternative way down if you've already reached the Furmanovka Peak Trail up. This trail is a little more mellow, making it more friendly for families with children 5+. There are also a couple of camping spots along the trail.
