Description

This trail is loaded with roots, rocks, creeks, mud and a few ups and downs. Be aware of the multiple trail crossings, and be sure to take your bearings at the at the intersection with RailRoad Grade, which can be confusing. If you want to stay on plantation, stay right (there should be two blue markers on the trees with hand written arrows also).

This trail ends with the longest and smoothest downhill in the system, which is sweet. Plantation Trail is mostly flat in the grand scheme of things as it runs straight down the spine of Canaan Mountain. However, do expect some steep little gritty ups and downs.

Extraordinarily muddy in April. Best done in waterproof boots! Very flat though. Mostly through tunnels of rhododendrons.
