Take care swimming at Karekare; the west coast beaches here can be very dangerous.

Description

From the wetlands and the end of the Pararaha Valley Track, hike through the sand dunes. You'll come across the Tunnel Campsite and go through the cave at Tunnel Point. Then hike along the black sand beach until you connect with the Pohutukawa Glade Walkway which will bring you back to Karekare.
