Family Friendly Not a difficult trail to hike and I think that kids would enjoy seeing the trestle.

The Trestle Recreation Area is closed from sundown to 9am.

Description

This trail can be accessed by a couple of different points or junctions within the area. To do the trail in its totality, start at the TH of T5001A just east of the recreation area off of Hwy 84.

Following T5001A, you'll come to a junction in which you'll continue right on restored railroad bed. This section skirts Toboggan Canyon and provides great views.

Eventually turning north, you'll enter the pines and switchback down toward one more doubletrack section before arriving at the restored trestle that spans the canyon.

Flora & Fauna

Deer and other forest critters. Elk and black bear are possible but usually stay further out from town.

This was a wonderful trail. Nearly level and great views. We hiked to the S Tressel. Just beyond the trail was blocked with a fence and gate.
