Family Friendly Easy, safe paths.

Description

From the parking lot follow the broad dirt road through the marsh. Once you reach the woods-line, take the right hand path. Follow this path as it bends left. After a long straightaway you'll reach a viewing tower. The path will turn right and continue until you reach the end of the path at another stream.

Flora & Fauna

Offshore grass beds, marshes, hardwood hammocks and pine ridges. With a variety of habitat on the refuge, shorebirds, wading birds, neotropical songbird migrants and a host of year-round resident waterfowl can be found here. Deer, rabbit, mink, otter, raccoon, muskrat, and nutria all make their home here, and the marshes provide critical spawning and nursery habitat for a number of fresh and saltwater species.
