The Alamo Springs Trail has sections of it that are among the most rugged in the Tortolita Mountain trail system. These areas make it more technical than many of the other trails in the area. You won't easily hike this one without a lot of hopping up and down large boulders.

This trail loops around the hillside to the east of the Wild Burro Trail and does connect to the Lower Javelina Trail and Ridgeline Trail. There is also an Alamo Springs Spur which cuts down to the Wild Burro Trail earlier if you don't want to do the entire Alamo Springs portion. This is one of those trails that is more fun climbing than descending.
