Description

After leaving behind the Bristlecone Grove Trail, this trail continues the ascent into the Wheeler Peak cirque until ending at the foot of the Wheeler Peak glacier. The trail isn't overly difficult, but hikers will notice the ascent. This is a rock glacier, so don't expect that iconic looking giant slab of ice. Though the ice is there, it is mixed with, and partially covered by, tons of rock. This is one of the southernmost glaciers in the U.S. and the only glacier in Nevada.
