Features Birding · Wildlife

Family Friendly Kids will love traipsing through the woods and observing this trail's stunning wildlife and ocean views.

This trail is currently not being maintained by the National Park Service because it houses critical habitat for the Cape Sable thoroughwort. The trail continues to be open, but visitors should be mindful of the potential for obstructions along the trail.

Description

Enter another planet when you step out of the parking area and into the verdant tropical woodlands of the Snake Bight Trail. While its name may instill fears of anti-venom and a trip to the emergency room, this clever trail name simply refers to a small embayment located at the trail's end, named Snake Bight (Bight, meaning a bay or gulf).

Near the trail's terminus, hop up onto the boardwalk and keep your eyes peeled for birds wading in the bay's shallow waters.
