Description

Beginning at the Scenic Drive, the trail climbs steep switchbacks to a river-sculpted terrace below the Wingate Cliff. After a short ascent, the path enters the canyon and drops quickly to the sandy floor. Side canyons and abundant vegetation add to the beauty of the red rock walls. As Cohab Canyon widens, the route traverses slickrock down to a junction with the trail that leads to the viewpoints high above on the north side. A junction with the Frying Pan Trail follows shortly as the path stays high above the deepening canyon and eventually descends to Highway 24, just east of the Hickman Bridge trailhead.

Beautiful hike going down and out of the canyon. Great scenery along a well maintained trail. Would love to do it again. Snowed! 1.6mi

Combined this with Hickman Bridge. Great hike though the canyon, don't miss the overlooks. Tough climb to start.
