Description

Always check trinitytrailriders.org for the current trail status.

This trail is on Corps land on the west side of Lavon Lake and goes through meadows and woodlands. The eastern side of the Sycamore Loop at the northern end of the trail meanders along Wilson Creek until it reaches the Sycamore grove containing the second largest Sycamore tree in Texas. This towering tree is well worth a moments pause, as it is truly a giant!

There are few views of the lake on this trail, it is mostly woodlands and meadows.

After 3 miles, the trail skirts along the east side of the NTMWD treatment plant. When the trail reaches the plant's pipeline easement dirt road, the western side of the Loop is directly across the easement dirt road; or turn right and follow the easement dirt road 1/2 mile and then turn left onto the eastern side of the Loop.

Flora & Fauna

Deer, bobcats, coyotes and wild pigs have been seen on this trail.
