Description

This trail starts from the Dog Canyon Campground, just south of the Dog Canyon Visitor Center. It is an easy and level trail with only one arroyo crossing. You can pick up a free trail guide from the visitor center to bring with you. It offers information on the environment and cultural history of the area.

From the trailhead, the trail heads north for a tenth of a mile before splitting into a loop. You can take this loop either direction. The loop is about 0.5 mile long. Enjoy the scenery as you wind through the Chihuahuan Desert.

We were in no hurry as we walked the trail. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the are and looked at the stars. It was a great place to wind down. 0.7mi — 1h 00m
