Description

While the Blue Creek Canyon Trail poses a climb that is certainly not easy, visitors will be rewarded with unbelievable views both along the way and atop the Chisos Mountains.

Starting at Homer Wilson Ranch, travel east on the trail, handrailing a series of braided washes before the trail enters a much narrower portion of the canyon. Climb along the canyon floor on somewhat loose footing, intermittently weaving between the canyon floor and the lower portions of the canyon walls.

Eventually, the trail leaves the canyon floor's sandy wash and begins a steady climb up the valley walls, switchbacking its way through dense mixed hardwood forests until reaching the trail's end near the headwall of Blue Creek Canyon at a junction with the Laguna Meadow Trail.

I went down hill, the canyon walls were stunning and I'm glad I went that way. 5.7mi
