Description

The Hairpin Loop is an appropriately named trail that connects to the Core Loop as part of the Michigan Tech trail system. The trail drops straight down into a river valley and then turns around and heads straight back up the hill.

There are nice views of the river valley at the bottom and a fault-line creek located at the bottom of a steep ravine that runs along the trail on the way back up. The trail is about 6 meters wide, and is a mowed grass trail, so it's not terribly technical. This route is used for cross-country skiing in the winter.

Flora & Fauna

I regularly see deer on this trail.
