Description

The trail starts in the grass across Skyline Drive from the visitor center parking area. At the first fork, keep to the left and in less than 100 yards you'll reach the Dickey Ridge Trail. Continue on the Dickey Ridge Trail heading left here for another two-tenths of a mile until the trail reaches the junction with the Fox Hollow Trail.

Turn right onto the Fox Hollow Trail, passing piles of stones that the Fox family removed from their fields over many years. At the cemetery, the trail makes a sharp turn to the right.

Continue past the site of the Fox family garden and house, taking a sharp left-hand turn at a concrete-enclosed spring.

The trail heads on past an old millstone near the site of the Fox family barn, before crossing the stream and continuing onto a dirt road.

Turn right on the old road, heading uphill for around a half-mile, keeping an eye out for a trail that starts uphill to the right. Take this trail and cross the Dickey Ridge Trail up to the trail started.
