Description

This doubletrack road offers an epic traverse from the top Aspen Mt. Summer Road, at the Sundeck restaurant, all the way to Taylor Pass at the southern end. Bring plenty of food, water, and warm clothes when venturing up here, even on a midsummer's day.

Attain the Richmond Ridge from the north either by Aspen Mt. Summer Road, Midnight Mine Road, or Little Annie Road. Get to the southern end, Taylor Pass, either from Express Creek Road, Taylor Pass Divide Road / Trail 400 (Star Pass), or Taylor Pass Road.

This road can be used as part of an epic day connecting Crested Butte to Aspen. Many segments, especially the southern above tree-line portion, are very rocky.
